Magical spaces

Strathmore Gardens isn’t a blank canvas — it’s a mosaic of spaces for every moment and mood. Whether you exchange vows in the intimate Wisteria Grove, romantic Walled Garden or striking Lakefront is up to you, but we can guarantee there will be surprise and delight at every turn.

The Barn
The Barn

The Barn comprises our largest event space, the loft, the stables and an outdoor lawn. The Barn is designed to dazzle, with eye-catching arched windows and lovely timber floors, and just outside, fragrant lavender hedges frame the lawn. If you fancy a touch of history, look no further than the loft’s vaulted timber ceiling or the preserved horse stables.

The Courtyard
The Courtyard

The Courtyard is enclosed on three sides by one of Strathmore’s oldest buildings. Here, cream brick walls and slanted sage-green roofs provide the perfect backdrop for welcome drinks, a bar or live music. The moss-covered fountain in the heart of the courtyard adds a touch of history, with three tiers, clusters of lilypads and white rose bushes at its edge.

The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden

In The Walled Garden, white and pink roses abound, catching the eye and filling the air with notes of sugar and spice. Roses frame each path, grow across lattice arbours and are even trained to the garden wall itself, climbing towards the sky. There are quince, apple, plum, peach and pear trees too, and lavender that blooms as the year’s end approaches.

The Lakefront
The Lakefront

The Lakefront is as idyllic as it is timeless. From the clusters of lilypads and explosions of reeds to the small row boat on the bank’s edge, nature has spared no detail. Here, towering oaks and a single wisteria tree provide dappled shade, framing the lake, cooling the air and creating a picture-perfect backdrop for your celebration.

The Glade
The Glade

The Glade is a lush, leafy, layered oasis. There’s a magnificent oak tree, tall maples and cherry blossom trees that bloom bright pink in spring, all of which bathe the grassy area in dappled sunlight. There are an array of flowering shrubs too, which add pops of colour to the landscape from spring through to autumn. This is a favourite spot for wedding vows.

Marquee Lawn
Marquee Lawn

The Marquee Lawn is perfect for a marquee, not only because it’s flat and expansive, but because it’s framed by rose gardens and lavender hedges that bloom throughout the year. This area measures 20 metres by 20 metres and can accommodate a standard marquee for 120-150 guests.

The Elmwood
The Elmwood

The Elmwood boasts lush green grass and towering elm trees with lime-green and pink flowers that bloom in September. The space is also home to two rows of linden trees, with distinctive heart-shaped leaves, packed so densely that they create an immersive space within a space. It’s the perfect place to get lost on purpose.

The Magnolia Lawn
The Magnolia Lawn

The Magnolia Lawn is named after the impressive magnolia tree that sits at its heart. This space is only available in spring, when the magnolia proudly displays its bright pink flowers, filling the air with citrus and sugar notes. This lush lawn is the perfect place to gather your guests or exchange your vows.

Wisteria Grove
Wisteria Grove

Wisteria Grove is made for meandering. From the array of fruit trees and the wisteria-covered pergola that blooms purple in the spring, to a Georgian garden folly that’s plucked straight from the depths of your imagination, there’s something new to be discovered around every twist and turn.

(This is the process for booking other events too.)
